New Fountain to be installed April 15

The new fountain is anticipated to be in place by April 15. We expect the new fountain to save us as much as $300 per month or $1,500 per year in electrical costs due to better technology.

Fountain Update

Fellow Neighbors…  just wanted to provide you an update on the status
of the fountain.  

Both float plate and pump are broken resulting in total loss.  The
fountain will not be on again this year and over the winter; the Board
will be purchasing a new fountain to be ready for use next spring.

Fountain not working (August 2009)

Fellow Neighbors –

The fountain has not been working since late August because the motor has failed.  It will be pulled from the pond on 9/10 and we won’t know if it can be repaired for a few weeks.

Pond Update 10/15/07

I would like to schedule an informational meeting to discuss the findings from our meeting with the group we met with last month.  I was thinking we could either rent out a room at the ice arena or, if it’s a smaller group, we could do it right at my house.  I was thinking about scheduling something for Wednesday night 10/24/07.  Please e-mail me by Friday, 10/19/07 at andy@prasky.com if you are interested.  It is actually very interesting stuff!!!  This meeting will have “quality” refreshments.

Notice:Pond Meeting

Your invited to join the “pond committee” Friday Sept.28th @ 8:30 a.m.at the corner of Cartway Road and Pebble Road by the pond there will be a site meeting. Followed by a 9:00 a.m. meeting at city hall. Sorry, This was the only time we could get the whole group together.

There will be representatives from the City of Champlin, Hennepin County, Road and De-watering Construction Companies, and WSB Engineering.

If you can’t make it please forward to me your thoughts and or concerns so I can have them addressed at the meeting.

Pond update

As many of you have noticed our pond has lowered quite considerably in the past couple of weeks.  I had a meeting with the city officials on this topic on Monday August 27th.  The information that we were given is as follows:

• The water table for the City of Champlin is usually 20′
• The current water table is just below 18′
• This effects all areas of the city including our pond
• The area has been in drought conditions for the past 2 years and it has started to catch up to us
• The pond has been high this summer due to the construction of Hayden Lake Road and the construction company pumping ground water into the pond during construction
• Now that construction has completed the water table is going back to its normal location
• What is needed to solve this problem is more rain and a big snow fall this winter to “reset” the water table

We will continue to monitor this situation and pass information along when we have it.

Fountain update 7-8-07

We had a shorted out starter and capasiter in the pump. The parts are due on 7-9 and the fountain should be up and running by 7-10.
