November 22, 23 - ELM CREEK PARK RESERVE CLOSED

Elm Creek Park Reserve will be closed November 22nd and 23rd due to a special deer hunt conducted by Three Rivers Park District.  The Parks and Natural Resources Committee approved a SHOTGUN hunt in efforts to “thin” deer population. 

There are signs posted at all bike trails and Three Rivers Park District should be obstructing paths during the event with barriers of some type.

Congrats to the new board!

The Cobblestone Lake Preserve Neighborhood Association met today, and elected Dave and Ryan to join Pete on the new board. Minutes will be posted soon. Thanks to all who attended or provided proxies!

Annual meeting TODAY at Champlin Ice Forum!

The Annual Meeting for our Homeowner’s Association is today at 7 p.m. at the Champlin Ice Forum.

The following items are on the agenda for the meeting:

1. Election of new directors to fill spots of both Beth Bjerke and Paul Harris
2. Report on the activities and financial condition of the Association (including discussion of the annual report)
3. Plans for the upcoming year, and
4. Any other items or concerns raised by those owners in attendance.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you may cast a vote by proxy on any matters that require a vote. The Proxy Form (printable version) was mailed to you on August 20 along with the written meeting notice and the 2007 Financials for the Association.

Welcome Spring 2008

Hello to all homeowners.  We just wanted to give you an early update for the 2008.  Paul has been in contact with Praire Restoration Corporation and they will be doing a controlled burn of the areas surrounding the 3 ponds coming sometime this late April to early May.  We will be sending a letter to all homeowners to let you know the week the will be doing the burn pending the weather.

Paul, Pete and Beth will be having a meeting to discuss this years plans and ideas on Sunday March 30th.  If anyone has some items they would like us to discuss please give Paul a call at 763-464-1927 and he will happy to bring it to the meeting.

The association is starting to plan a “Kids Safety Day” in the development for sometime in May or June.  We are planning on talking to the Fire & Police departments to get their help and support.  We have already had a commitment from TrailHead bicycle shop to be available to tune up childrens bikes on site.  If anyone would like to help in the organization of this event please contact Paul Harris at 763-464-1927.

Pond Update 10/15/07

I would like to schedule an informational meeting to discuss the findings from our meeting with the group we met with last month.  I was thinking we could either rent out a room at the ice arena or, if it’s a smaller group, we could do it right at my house.  I was thinking about scheduling something for Wednesday night 10/24/07.  Please e-mail me by Friday, 10/19/07 at andy@prasky.com if you are interested.  It is actually very interesting stuff!!!  This meeting will have “quality” refreshments.

Your invited to join the “pond committee” Friday Sept.28th @ 8:30 a.m.at the corner of Cartway Road and Pebble Road by the pond there will be a site meeting. Followed by a 9:00 a.m. meeting at city hall. Sorry, This was the only time we could get the whole group together.

There will be representatives from the City of Champlin, Hennepin County, Road and De-watering Construction Companies, and WSB Engineering.

If you can’t make it please forward to me your thoughts and or concerns so I can have them addressed at the meeting.

We had a successful meeting last night at the Ice Forum — welcome to the new readers of the site. Please go ahead and post comments to this post if you have any ideas or take-aways from last night’s meeting. Remember, if you signed up to be a “proxy captain” you’ll be getting proxy forms soon from the Directors of the board.

Also, welcome to our newest director, Pete Rojas! We’ll be official after the proxies are in, but the group of neighbors in attendance voted unanimously to approve Pete in his role, so he’s a shoe-in.
